One great series to check out is the eMedia Rock Guitar Method – a fantastic and easy to follow introduction to rock guitar style playing. I did have one problem with the disk space not returning to full after I deleted most of my songs, so I had to use the Sansa website forum and format the player. And if you’re in the market for a EMedia Rock Guitar Method, we will show you where the best prices are and aren’t. The eMedia Rock Guitar Method CD-ROM makes learning quick and easy with over 100 audio- and video-enhanced guitar lessons. A revolutionary teaching style has you playing songs, chords and riffs within minutes — no previous experience required.

Looping lets you select and repeat tricky sections of a song. Most of the songs are recorded live with multi-track full band accompaniment so you’ll feel like you’re a part of the band. To help you master each note an animated fretboard guides you through the fingerings while MIDI tracks allow you to slow down and loop parts of the music for the parts you’re having a hard time getting down right. The songs are all demonstrated on an acoustic guitar. It makes for better learning to have the same type of instrument as the instructor.

Learn to play using triads, fills and syncopation, and to create a bass line for any song you like. Includes full multi-track audio, as well as bass-only and no-bass audio options, so you can perfect your technique and play along with the band. Our revolutionary teaching style has you playing songs, chords, licks and riffs within minutes – no previous experience required. The gear tips will help keep you playing all night long! It allows you to see exactly how to play the song on a guitar fretboard as you hear the music. Music tracking highlights the notes being played on the screen, making it simple to follow along.

Includes an animated fretboard, fretronome, and multi-track audio for hit songs. You can learn songs in either guitar tablature or standard music notation as the notes on the screen highlight and fingering is displayed on the animated fretboard. Pick up an ax and start covering your favorite rock, blues, country and folk songs with the roar and energy that only an electric guitar has. Follow along with 165 different step-by-step lessons, covering the basics like holding & stringing your guitar — then move on to reading notation and fingerpicking styles. The innovative teaching style presents rock songs chords riffs and gear tips in an exciting fast-paced learning format that requires no previous music experience. You ll quickly be playing your favorite hit songs!

Learning guitar is made fun through over 70 songs including familiar hits from artists such as Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead and Steve Miller. Learn to play using triads, fills and syncopation, and to create a bass line for any song you like. Includes full multi-track audio, as well as bass-only and no-bass audio options, so you can perfect your technique and play along with the band. Piano and Keyboard Method provides everything a beginning piano student needs to learn the basics of music, how to read music, rhythm and timing, pitch and notation, and how to play real songs on the piano or electronic keyboard. As with their other titles, eMedia has created a successful learning approach and anyone who wants to start learning how to play a keyboard instrument should pick up a copy of Piano and Keyboard Method today.

When you play a song, you’ll strum chords, switching back and forth between them. This is the part that may be hard at first! Each song on the program we reviewed was recorded with the drums so you can listen to the drum part, and then without the drums so you can play along with the band. No drummer to follow along with. What’s a cover song? It’s a song played by someone other than the original recording artist.

In one lesson we also started to form some chord progressions and work towards learning a song. Lesson runtime 14:36. Pretty nice. You will have to follow the rhythms and the notes and guess the song. The band starts playing a song and you are expected to just start playing along with them, however you don’t KNOW the song!? What do you do? Well – there are some notes to read – you’ll get it, eventually.

I perhaps ought to add that my husband really likes this software too, and was soon playing the first song sequence having never picked up a guitar before. Another one to check out is the eMedia Rock Guitar Method – a fantastic and easy to follow introduction to rock guitar style playing. I did have one problem with the disk space not returning to full after I deleted most of my songs, so I had to use the Sansa website forum and format the player. Also, the buttons stick and do not work from time to time, but the problem goes away quickly… feels like a software problem, not a hardware problem. The words of a song are sung in rhythm, while the beat is very steady and always pulsing. For example, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” has syllables that fall on the beat, but the words pause at the end of each phrase while the beat goes on.

Simple songs are soon introduced to break up the tedious work of playing notes and chords smoothly. I found that I actually progressed much faster with the video lessons than when I had a conventional live teacher. Next Level Guitar uses popular songs as vehicles to learn strumming, new chords, rhythm, timing, and chord changing. However, this program will keep you focused on learning the basics so you can start playing the songs you want too. Universal Marketing Media is the company which brings this product to the table.

On some of the newer songs, I play with my fingers. I tend to stay true to the recorded parts, but I definitely have the freedom to interpret. They can’t play anything out of a guitar book, but they can sit down and chord and strum song after song. If you were to ask them how they learned to play the guitar, most of them would probably shrug their shoulders and say that they “just picked it up.” Then once you do that, you can try out any song you wish to learn!
